On Sunday night the new Two and a Half Men actor, Ashton Kutcher, gave some extremely good advice to the young audience at the 2011 Teen Choice Awards. As he went up on stage to accept his surfboard award for his role in his latest movie, No Strings Attached, Kutcher relayed the following message to his screaming audience:
"I want to say thank you, but I also want to give you guys the best piece of advice that I ever got when I was a teenager. And this is actually really serious. STOP SCREAMING I'M TRYING TO TALK SERIOUS STUFF RIGHT NOW. I'm serious about this. The whole United States needs to hear this. Here's the best piece of advice I ever got when I was a teenager: Don't ever charge anything on a credit card if you don't already have the money in the bank to pay for it."
After giving that serious little lecture to the excited crowd, Ashton began singing a delightful version of Katy Perry’s song, “Teenage Dream.” In case you missed that, his rehearsed version can be found here.
After his charming performance, Ashton posted on Twitter, “Thank you all for the award and the love! And I’m serious about thy credit card thing.”
We here at CreditCardsProfessor.com are in agreement with Ashton’s advice and would like to applaud him for bringing up the issue to all the teens out there who will soon be wielding credit cards of their own. It looks like Ashton is shaping up to be a great replacement for Charlie Sheen… especially when it comes to being a role model!
