altThe wireless network, Sprint has announced they will no longer be offering their rebates by check and that the company has chosen to provide rebate recipients with American Express pre-paid cards instead. This will be beneficial in many ways to customers providing them with faster processing time and better security features.

The prepaid American Express cards will be good for use at any location which accepts American Express credit cards but will not be transferable to a bank account. The incentives for using the new card rebate program are that customers will receive their rebate much faster and funds will be available as soon as they receive the prepaid card. If the card is lost or stolen, it will be replaced, a very nice benefit of switching from checks to American Express.

Checking the available balance, activating and using the card are all free of charge. There is one fact that is worth noting though, once the customer activates the card, the funds must be used within 6 months to avoid any fee. Otherwise, a $3 maintenance fee will begin being deducted from the card each month until there is nothing left. With checks, they would become un-cashable after three months so this is a better option.

Those looking to get a rebate card or to receive further information on the new program visit http://sprint.com or a Sprint store near you.
