The relatively new payment method which allows customers to simply wave their card like a magic wand to pay for transactions has found its way into Rexall pharmacies across Canada according to an announcement today made by Visa.
The payWave contactless payment card readers have been added to all Rexall and Rexall Pharma Plus locations as well as in participating Guardian and I.D.A. pharmacies. The new payment option provides customers with a quick and easy way to make purchases so they can spend less time in line.
“At Rexall, it is important to us to introduce new products and services that make the shopping experience better,” said the Director of Corporate Relations at Rexall Pharma Plus, Michelle Lee. “Visa payWave makes it easier and faster to shop at Rexall and our customers appreciate the added convenience.”
Visa payWave allows cardholders to make purchases without worrying about the hassles of pushing the correct buttons, entering a PIN or even signing a receipt. Cardholders that own a Visa payWave credit card can now simply wave it in front of a card reader which displays the contactless symbol and go.
“Pharmacies today are really a one-stop shop for everyday purchases, and getting in and out quickly can make a big difference in your day,” said Mike Bradley, Visa Canada’s Head of Products. “Visa cardholders can now enjoy the convenience and security of Visa payWave at these national Canadian pharmacies.
For those that are a bit skeptical of using a Visa payWave credit card, there are a few reasons not to worry. Firstly, Visa provides Zero Liability protection to all its cardholders which protects them against fraudulent purchases should their credit card become lost or stolen. The Zero Liability protection covers cardholders whether the card is used to make purchases by mail, phone or online as well in person.
Contactless payments are equipped with 128-bit encryption technology which insures the terminal and credit card information is kept confidential. Cardholders never have to hand over the card to anyone making it both faster and safer.
